How To Calculate Printing Cost
Four inputs explain almost every printing quote you will ever receive.
Printing prices feel opaque until you see the structure behind them, at which point they become predictable. Nearly every quote is built from four variables, with a small number of add-ons.
Understanding the structure is useful for two reasons: you can estimate a job before asking, and you can see immediately which change would reduce it.

The Four Core Inputs
Total pages is the base volume of the job. Sides determines how many physical sheets those pages become; duplex halves the sheet count. Colour mode sets the per side rate, with black and white lowest, colour highest and mixed applying colour rates only where colour appears. Copies multiplies the run.
Copies do not multiply price linearly. Preparation, file checking and setup are done once regardless of quantity, so the per copy cost falls as the run grows. This is why ten copies ordered together always cost less than ten copies ordered one at a time.
Add-Ons That Sit Outside The Core
Binding is priced per finished copy and depends on type: spiral is inexpensive, perfect binding costs more, hardbinding more again, and foil spine text adds a further step. Paper upgrades from 70 GSM to 80, 100 or 120 GSM increase the per sheet cost and the parcel weight.
Special items such as card covers, lamination, A3 pages inside an A4 document, or plates on coated stock are quoted individually. Delivery is separate and depends on weight and destination pin code; collection from our New Delhi counter is free.
A Worked Example
Take a 120 page project report, black and white, double side, four copies, spiral bound. The pages become 60 sheets per copy. The print charge is 120 sides at the black and white rate, multiplied by four copies. Add four spiral bindings. Add delivery if it is being couriered.
Now change one variable at a time to see the effect. Switch to single side and the sheet count doubles to 120 per copy, raising paper use and parcel weight. Switch to full colour and the per side rate rises on all 120 pages, when only eight of them contain charts. Use mixed mode instead and only those eight pages carry the colour rate.
Where Money Is Actually Saved
In order of impact: print double side, use mixed mode rather than full colour, print only the pages you need, combine copies into a single order, and choose collection over courier if you are in Delhi.
Two further levers apply to long documents. Trimming an unnecessarily large margin or excessive line spacing can remove real pages, but only where the format guideline permits it. And for genuinely large runs, ask whether offset is cheaper than digital at your quantity.

How To Place A Printing Order With Us

Read the page count from your PDF reader rather than estimating it, and give an exact page range if only part of the document should be printed.

There is no minimum. One copy is a valid order, and so is a run of several thousand. Copy count is what decides whether digital or offset production is cheaper for you.

Binding, Collection And Delivery Options
Loose sheets suit drafts and anything destined for a ring file. Spiral and wiro binding lie completely flat, which is why they are the default for notes, lab records, manuals and working documents. Soft cover perfect binding gives a squared, printable spine and is the usual choice for project reports, proposals and paperbacks. Hardbinding, with foil spine text where required, is used for theses, archival record copies and premium editions. Card covers from 250 to 300 GSM, with matt or gloss lamination, can be added to any bound document and cost very little across a small number of copies.
